Ferro Privacy Policy

Ferro is a workout log for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored and how to delete it. In short: without an account, your data stays on your phone. If you create an account (it's optional), we keep a copy of your data in the cloud so you can get it back. We don't sell or share your data with anyone, and the app has no ads or analytics.

What the app stores on your phone

What you enter: workouts, sets, routines, plans, custom exercises, notes, body weight and measurements, your name or nickname, an optional profile photo and your preferences (units, weekly goal, etc.).

If you create an account

The account is optional and lets you keep a copy of your data in the cloud, get it back on another phone or after reinstalling, and keep it up to date across your devices. With it we collect:

• Your email (and your name, if you sign in with Google) and an account ID, to sign you in.
• A copy of your training data: workouts, routines, plans, custom exercises, body weight and measurements, and your weight unit. Your profile name, photo and other preferences are not uploaded. The copy is uploaded automatically after a workout, when you leave the app and once a day.

It is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud), on servers in the European Union, and encrypted in transit. Google acts as a data processor. Only you can read your copy: the database rules prevent anyone else from accessing it. It is kept for as long as you have the account.

What else leaves your phone

Nothing else on the app's own initiative. Data only leaves the device, otherwise, if you choose to:

• Export a backup or your history as CSV: the file is saved wherever you pick.
• Share a workout as an image with another app.
• Use Google's Android backup, if it's turned on on your phone. Google manages it under its own policy.

Permissions

• Internet: only for the account and the cloud backup.
• Notifications: to tell you when your rest is over and remind you of planned workouts.
• Alarms & reminders (optional): so those alerts arrive on time with the screen off.
• Vibration and run at startup: for the rest alert and to reschedule reminders after a restart.

Importing data

If you import a file (a backup or a Strong or Hevy CSV), the app reads it once to copy the data onto your phone.

Deleting your data and your account

• From the app: Settings → Account → "Delete account". Your account and your cloud backup are deleted right away. The data on your phone stays; to remove it, uninstall the app or clear its data in Android Settings → Apps.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data by writing to the contact email. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
